It included medicine-sellers, sellers of stolen hardware and junk, magicians, an auctioneer of cheap cloth and a vendor of fried groundnuts. It was a noisy market due to the shouting of the traders.

Answer: The market area in my city is very crowded. The shops are very near to each other. The vegetables, fruits, small household articles and kitchen utensils are available for sell. People come and buy the things. They bargain and select from variety of items. In the evening the area becomes shabby due to deserted wastage material.

Answer: The astrologer charged three pieces per question. He never opened his mouth till the customers had spoken for at least ten minutes. It provided him enough stuff for a dozen answers and advices. Taking the palm of the customers in hand, the astrologer asked them the tricky expressions to win their faith. This was the strategy of the astrologer to deal with his customers.

Answer: The astrologer was wise and brave. He had a sharp perception and skill to handle people. He was good reader of other’s face or attitude. He had a great patience. He was clever to use specific techniques to know the customers. I find these qualities of the astrologer in this extract.

Along with this, the expressions like- ‘The astrologer shivered in his grip, and his voice shook and became faint’ show that the astrologer feared due the encounter with the stranger.
