[1] RAAZI
Ans:-                                                               RAAZI
RAAZI. A truly patriotic film with the right dosage of intrigue and romance woven splendidly together. The movie has a tightly knit plot with each character well drawn out and helps in rendering a perfect tale of the sacrifices made by the agents working for the Intelligence Bureau. Country before everything else is depicted with quite intensity and makes us squirm at the thought of how human beings are manipulated and made to endure such hardships and sacrifices that seem incredible but not impossible. Alia Bhat as Sehmat Syed and Vishal Kaushal as Iqbal simply leave the audiences spell bound by their wonderful performance. Best of all is the sweet melodious language of Urdu spoken by all the actors is absolute music to the ears. Meghna Gulzar has given her audiences a beautiful touching and true story of a brave young girl who upholds the word of her father and agrees to do as she is told. No questions asked. I would give it four out of five stars. Do watch it once.

[2] THAPPAD
Ans:-                                                             THAPPAD
Thappad - an incredible film by Anubhav Sinha. He is the same guy who gave us films like ‘Mulk and Article 15’. For generations we have seen women playing the second fiddle in a family. No matter what her qualification or her accomplishment she never gets the same status as that of the man of the house. In fact when the woman is financially more successful, the situation worsens. With double income the status has evolved a bit in modern nuclear families but there is still that aspect of male dominance which is all pervasive. How many women give up their careers to raise a family and become full time housewives? But, does financial dependence on the earning partner mean that their respect is lost and they can be subject to abuse? And abuse not just physical but of financial dependence, lack of choices and decision making in basic household matters etc.
The film also focuses on the key aspect of what amounts to domestic violence. Is it the repeated beating of a housemaid by her drunken husband? Or even that one off slap that an educated high income earner lands on his wife in a fit of rage? Is that one off incident to be taken into her stride by the woman or is it good enough to part ways. The story is narrated beautifully and the director addresses it from all angles. Drawing parallels between different strata of the society. From a low income kaamwali bai to a rich housewife to a very successful financially independent top drawer lawyer. The role women play in this male dominated society, the norms by which they have to live, passed on by generations.
Thappad raises a lot of awareness around this subject and presents a very balanced view. I sincerely hope that this message goes loud and clear across various social stratus and has a positive impact. Although the fabric of the film is not mass, and if the messages reaches the ever growing urban middle class the team has done well.
Tapsee as the key protagonist delivers a punch. She has done much better roles but she carries this subject with the kind of maturity that’s needed. Supporting cast is awesome with the likes of Manav Kaul, Pavail Gulati, Dia Mirza, Kumid Mishra and Tanvi Azmi. 4* film comes with a must watch tag.

[3] SAIRAT
Ans:-                                                                SAIRAT
1) Story/Plot:
The Marathi language film ‘Sairat’ is a love story of a higher caste girl, the daughter of a powerful village politician, Archi (Rinku Rajguru), and Pershya (Akash Thosar), a classmate of Archi and the son of a low-caste fisherman .They fall in love but caste and social status become the big problem. Tatya (Suresh Vishwakarma) sees them meeting during a birthday party in the backyard of home. They decide to run away to Hyderabad. Parshya’s friends Langdya (Tanaji Galgunde) and Salya (Arbaz Shaikh) help them. Here they live a life full of struggle. A local woman Suman Akka (Chhaya Kadam) helps them. Archi decides to go back home but love for Parshya brings her back. They marry and after many years Archi phones her mother. Prince (Suraj Pawar), Archi’s brother, comes to Hyderabad and ends their lives.
2) Characters/Cast:
The producer and director Nagraj Manjule has introduced many new faces with no acting background. Rinku and Akash are in leading roles. Suraj and Suresh Vishwakarma are the villains. Other minor characters have played their parts very effectively and they fit to make this film a mixture of comic and serious actions.
3) Music and Songs:
Audience is forced to dance to the rhythm of the song ‘Zing zing zingat.’ ‘Sairat zala ji’ and ‘Yad lagla’ are other melodious songs in the film. The music by Ajay-Atul makes it an unforgettable film.
4) Weak and Strong Points:
The only minor weak point to my view is the 170 minutes length of the film. It could easily have been shorter by at least 20 minutes. Acting, music and the story that hold the attention of the audience for 170 minutes are the strong points of the film.
5) Special Features:
’Sairat’ is essentially two films or two types of narratives rolled into one. The first is a love story with a number of playful moments, songs, love and romance. The second narrative is realistic and heartbreaking. It's a reminder that all dreams must come to an end and should stand the test of reality.
6) Overall Impact/My Opinion about the Film:
’Sairat’ is not an easy film to make or to grasp. While I recommend it, I would also warn the audience to pause and take a deep breath before passing the judgment, one way or another. Action, music, drama, the realistic village and metro city setting, dialogues and the rustic language make it a must watch film. I will give four stars to the film.

Ans:                                Film Review: - Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior
1) Story: "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" is a bio-graphical movie. The film is about 17th century and based on the life of Tanhaji Malusare, who was the military leader of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film depicts Tanhaji's attempts to recapture the Kondhana Fort once again. It was captured by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb who transferred its control to his trusted guard Udaybhan Singh Rathore.
2) Characterisation: The film stars Ajay Devgan in the lead role as (Tanhaji Malusare) & Kajol as his wife (Savitribai). Saif Ali Khan has played a negative role of Rajput Mughal Fort keeper (Udaybhan Singh). All the leading characters performed very well. Ajay Devgan showed excellence in action while Kajol presented emotional aspect. Supporting actors performed their role nicely.
3) Music and Songs: The songs are supportive and suitable as per the need. The song, "Shankara Re Shankara" in which the two enemies come face-to-face ahead of their final stand-off on the battle field is amazing. The background music creates historical atmosphere. It brings the true spirit in the film.
4) Theme: The film "Tanhaji: The Unsung warrior” traces Tanhaji's sacrifice to his life for the Maratha Empire (Swarajya) while conquering the "Fort Kondhana" now known as Sinhagad". Thereafter, leaving behind a saying, "Gad aala pan Sinha gela" which means "The fort is conquered, but the lion is dead."
5) Action: The action scenes are especially very attractive & further enhanced if you watch the film in 3D.
Sequences depicting the guerrilla tactics employed by the Marathas to scale the fort are excellently executed and the final battle between Tanhaji& Udaybhan is nothing short of spectacular with a deadly cannon aimed in the direction of Chhatrapati's Rajgad Fort, the two men face-off in a bloody fight to finish.
6) Weak Points: The film presents historical story but it takes too much cinematic liberty. It includes few unauthentic stories. Few action scenes are brutal. The songs should be more melodious. The use of modern instruments like sliding rope is not suitable for the time depicted in the film.
7) Special features: The use of 3D technology and adventurous action scenes are the specialty of this film. The acting of real husband-wife (Ajay and Kajol) playing the same role on-screen is interesting
8) My opinion about the film: it is really nice historical based film. It is thrilling film which shows the great strength of the persons of Maratha kingdom. Writing, screenplay, direction and the action scenes are remarkable. Climax is wonderful. I like the film very much. I give 4.5 out of 5 stars rating to this film.
