Writer's visits to the villages around searching for a good traditional variety also did not give any results so he almost gave up hope of finding the desi variety of rice.

Answer:- In my area the farmers faced the problem of scarcity of water for farming and no guaranty of fixed prize for their products.

He was ready to give some of the hybrid variety free of cost for a trial. Seeing this the writer felt he had wasted his time with the agricultural officer.

Give your observation about using desi (local) variety in the fields of your area.
Answer:- As per my observations, the farmers in my area do not use the local (desi) variety in their fields. They like to sow only the hybrid variety of crops. They do not have time for time consuming variety. They also want big production of crops. So they do not go for local (desi) variety of crops.

It uses plant compost and manure to grow plants. Organic farming helps to improve the fertility and quality of the soil. It avoids chemical pesticides so it gives healthy food crops.
