‘Maharashtra Day’ in your junior college.
Hints: The time when students
assembled in college, the arrival of the chief guest and other dignitaries, flag-hoisting, speeches, detailed

It was a day of joy and energy
when May 1st, the day on which Mahila Junior college, Beed celebrated
the 'Maharashtra Day'. Though it was the last working day of the academic year
of the college, it was celebrated in great enthusiasm. Mr. Sachin Pardeshi, the
Block Education Officer, was the chief guest of this year. He arrived at the
college exactly at 7.30 a.m. Parents, local authorities and the teachers were
already present. The NCC cadets led the chief guest to the flag post where the
Principal welcomed him offering him a bouquet of flowers.
At 8 o'clock the principal hoisted
the national flag; all the students saluted the flag and sang the national
anthem in chorus. They chanted the slogans -'Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vande Mataram,
and Jai Maharashtra'. They sang the flag song (Zenda Ucha Rahe Hamara......)
and the Maharashtra Geet (Garja Maharashtra Maza......). These songs filled the
atmosphere with patriotic feelings. The chief guest gave a brief speech on this
occasion. He said that the Maharashtra state was formed on 1st of
May, 1960. It was the policy of the Central Government to form its Constituent
states on the basis of one language one state. He also praised the policy of
the late Hon. Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan.
As a part of the programme, games
and cultural activities were arranged. Many students gave their best
performances and won prizes. The celebration ended with the Principal's speech.
He said that our prime duty is to protect our country from foreign attacks. We
should stand united as Indians along with our deep feeling for our own
language, culture and festivals. The Vice-Principal expressed the vote of
thanks.

Vile Parlay Junior college, Mumbai,
celebrated the republic Day with great enthusiasm. Students and citizens were
present on this occasion. The Dy. Director of Education was the chief guest of
the function. When he arrived at 7.30 a.m. a grand guard of honour was given to
him by the band troop and N.C.C. cadets. Girls wearing costumes of different
states welcomed the chief guest, parents and citizens by offering a rose
flower.
The National flag was hoisted by
the Principal. The college band played the National Anthem. Patriotic songs
were sung in chorus. The president of student council introduced the chief
guest to the audience. The chief guest gave the students a lot of information
about education opportunities and how the State and the Government of India
help the poor and the needy. He urged that students should take advantage of
these facilities. In his concluding speech, the Principal explained to the
students the importance of the Republic Day and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s
contribution in framing the constitution.
Sharyu, the girls' representative
offered thanks to the chief guest, parents and citizens who were present on the
occasion. She requested them to visit the exhibition arranged by the students on
the topic- ‘the Constitution of India. The programme ended with the distribution
of sweets, snacks and tea.

Independence Day
Independence Day was celebrated with joy and energy in Rashtriya Jr.
College, Chalisgaon yesterday morning. All the students participated in the celebration.
Independence Day celebration started at 7.15 a.m. After the morning prayers we assembled
on the playground. Our parents were also invited. The honourable chairman of
the Sanstha was invited as the chief guest. The principal accompanied him to
the Dias and introduced him to all. He was a well-known surgeon and he worked
for social purposes in many occasions.
The principal hoisted the national
flag. We all saluted the flag and sang the National Anthem- ‘Jana, gana, mana'.
The chief guest honoured some of our friends who achieved success in various
competitions. Then cultural programme started. Dance, singing, quiz and sports
contests were arranged. The chief guest liked the programme. The celebrations
ended with a vote of thanks by the vice principal.

Teacher's Day
Teacher's Day was held in Jijamata
Junior College, Cidco, Aurangabad on Sept.5th. It is the birth day
of eminent scholar and teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the Second
President of India. Prof. Dr. Ayyubkhan Pathan was the chief guest. Along with
the chief guest Principal P. S. Chavan and Vice Principal Mrs. Sadhana Nikam
inaugurated the ceremony. Some of the students played a roll of student
teacher, supervisor, vice principal, principal and non-teaching staff. These
students conducted classes and enjoyed teaching. After this session all
gathered in the assembly hall. All the college teachers were honoured with the
mementos by the representative students of each class.
In the assembly the chief guest
advised the teachers to provide an ideal to the students with their behaviour
and work. He also advised the students to follow their teachers as an idol. The
Principal delivered the concluding speech. He appreciated the student's gesture
towards their teacher. Few of the students shared their teaching experience
during the ceremony. These students were also honoured by the chief guest and
Principal. The president of students’ council Anil Jadhav expressed vote of
thanks.

One day ‘Blood Donation Camp' was
organized with joint effort of Jaihind college and Laxmi Blood Bank, Dhule. The
camp was organized in the college multi - purpose hall from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm
on 26th January on the occasion of Republic Day celebration.
The camp was inaugurated by the hands
of the Chief Guest, Dr. Mahesh Patil. In his inaugural speech, he informed
about the importance of blood donation in the life of an individual and the
nation. He also encouraged the participants to donate their blood fearlessly.
Nearly 75 students, 15 teachers and 25 citizens participated in the camp and
voluntarily donated their blood. The principal of our college gave a valuable
guidance about blood donation as 'A Social Need'. Five well-known doctors
delivered their speeches in the camp focusing over "Myths and Facts’ about
blood donation. A few students from 12th Science presented 'Poster
Presentation’ and ‘Quiz Competition' on the occasion. Further, a group of NSS
volunteers organized songs and skits based on the theme blood donation. ‘A Free
Health Check-up Service' was made available for the donors. Nearly 30 bottles of
blood were collected in the camp and donated to the blood bank.
The participants were given a
'Certificate of Appreciation' and refreshment after the blood donation. In the
conclusion, the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Anita Patil, President Laxmi
Blood Bank.

Celebration
Annual Day Celebration was held at
R. C. Patel Junior College, Shirpur on 15th December with joy and
enthusiasm. Well known singer Anand Shinde and the chief guest of the programme
inaugurated the function. Dr. N. K. Thackeray ex-chancellor of N.M.U. Jalgaon
was the chief chairperson of the event. At the outset the traditional lamp was
lighted and the photos of Savitribai Fule and Mahatma Gandhi were garlanded by
the chief guests. A welcome song was presented by a group of students. After
the formal welcome of the dignitaries of the dais, the Principal Chandrakant
Pawar delivered an introductory speech in which he narrated the growth of the
institute.
In his speech Dr. N. K. Thackeray
urged the students to update themselves and try for competitive exams. Further
he stated to set the goal and follow it. The cultural programme was started
with the song presented by the chief guest singer Anand Shinde. Various
cultural activities were presented on the occasion by the students. Pratibha
Patil was the comperer who made the programme effective with her melodious
compering. Singing, dancing, acting, comedy, shayari etc. made the programme
memorable. Sayali Dhobale proposed a vote of thanks.
