Definition: -

 A statement of purpose is an application mode to a university to seek admission to a particular course. 

What is SOP:- 

1) An easy way to describe ourselves with the aim and ambition. 

2) To speak on journey of life and qualities in us. 

3) An academic achievement and scorecards. 

4) To give innate qualities and subjective in nature. 

5) To focus on special features different from others. 

6) Why we join the course – purpose. 

7) Very important document and differ as per level. 

Format of SOP :- 

1) Word limit 400 To 500 words. 

2) 5 to 6 paragraphs. 

3) 1st paragraph: - Our introduction, personal background, our aim and our Mental make – up. 

4) 2nd paragraph: - Why you wish to join this course/ programme and your Interest. 

5) 3rd paragraph: - Your qualities, hobbies, interest, usefulness and Extracurricular activities. 

6) 4th paragraph: -Your experience, internship/ project, state your speciality. 

7) 5th paragraph: - Conclude with course benefits to you and others and career.

ACTIVITY: -

Ans: A STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:- TO JOIN ENGINEERING COLLEGE IIT 

         Having a dream of computer engineering, I started my career very early at my secondary education. I have got this interest from my brother who is graduate from IIT Mumbai in computer engineering. I took my primary education from the rural part of Wada and Secondary education from Taluka place Wada itself. I chose computer their and got 90 % marks in it. I am poor economic background. My Jr. College taught me more about Computer through IT subject. My IT teacher inspired me much and as result I have got 95 marks in IT subject. 

         I want to join this course because my ideals my brother, my teacher and my parents. My IT teacher Mr. Bhoir sir impressed me most to choose this course. I want to fulfil their dream. 

As a sincere student I had got the scholarship in 11th Ana 12th from my college. I was really admired by my every teacher. I was specially known by my studious nature and polite manners. My special interest in sports provides me a strength. My hobbies are computer , cricket playing , reading latest IT journals and wrestling. From 9th standard I have been using laptop at my home. This is my passion and I want to devote for this. 

           In my Jr. College I handled annual gathering programme management on laptop for sequence of the programme. I excellently did that. I have also got 1st rank in district level science exhibition for PowerPoint presentation on programming. I got more knowledge and ability in 11th and 12th. I am much more than my friends in computer. 

           I strongly believed that IIT Mumbai is an ideal place for my career making and my knowledge. It is the best in India. It will flourish my knowledge and skill of computer engineering. It will provide me my lifetime interest and dream. I will prove myself and secure my admission here. Through this I will fulfil my dream of Computer Engineering.
